Eric Ellington is a dedicated professional deeply committed to both his career and community. A Dayton, Ohio native, he graduated from Patterson Co-op High School in 1994. Since 1998, Eric has played a vital role at Heidelberg Distributing Company as a sales representative, where he consistently provides exceptional support to his clients.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Eric is actively engaged in various community initiatives. His passion for sports and youth empowerment is evident through his volunteer work at the NFL Summer Camp. For the past decade, he has spearheaded Breast Cancer Awareness campaigns, raising both awareness and support for this crucial cause. As a proud member of the Inspired By Dayton Empowered By Us organization and the Miami Valley Organizing Collaborative, Eric participates actively in community-building efforts.
Eric also serves as the Administrator for the “What’s Going On In Dayton Feeding the Homeless” initiative, ensuring that those in need receive vital support and nourishment. For over ten years, he has been involved in Thanksgiving food distribution programs, helping to provide families with warm meals during the holiday season. He is dedicated to raising awareness about infant mortality and has actively contributed to the Community Harvest Initiative.
His contributions extend to Emmanuel MB Church, where he has organized food and clothing distribution events every third Saturday of the month, collaborated with Milano’s for community clean-up campaigns, and volunteered in various capacities, including security, sound, and social media. Additionally, Eric has demonstrated his creativity by designing Martin Luther King posters for the annual walk.
A long-standing member of the Dayton Branch NAACP, Eric has served as Sergeant at Arms for 10 terms and was honored with the 73rd Dayton NAACP Hall of Freedom Volunteer of the Year award. His passion for civic engagement is evident in his active involvement in the “Get Out and Vote” campaign. He also volunteers with Fish & Loves, serving hot meals to the community every Wednesday evening at The Potter’s House in Dayton, Ohio.Â
