Nichole M. Smith

Nichole (Wells) Smith, a servant leader, has made it her life mission to engage in meaningful work for the betterment of her community.

An Indiana University graduate, Nichole received her B.A. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish Language and Customs. In 2007 while obtaining her degree, Nichole also became a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), a fully empowered law enforcement officer in the State of Indiana.

Upon graduation, Nichole moved to the state of Ohio, and her professional work has included becoming an Investigator with Montgomery County Job and Family Services, as well as becoming a graduate of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (Basic) Academy, where she went on to serve as a Police Officer for the City of Centerville.

Shortly thereafter, in 2016, at 29, Nichole was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and felt led to serve in the nonprofit space. As the Director of Programming at Pink Ribbon Girls, Nichole had the opportunity to assist in providing vital services to cancer patients and their families across the country, provide peer support for newly diagnosed patients, and advocate for health equity for young survivors and survivors who are historically underserved and underinvested. In March 2020, Nichole was highlighted for her efforts as a Dayton Daily News, Daytonian of the Week.

Nichole is currently the Vice President of Growth and Strategy for VOICES Corp., an Indianapolis, IN nonprofit that, through culturally sustaining education, healing-centered engagement, and workforce development, provides the relationships, resources, and opportunities for youth and families to heal, grow, and further their path towards economic self-sufficiency and civically engaged lives.

Nichole is also a 14-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. A member of Tau Lambda Omega Chapter (Trotwood, OH) of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Nichole serves in Cheer and Hospitality.
